State Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports
Volker Schebesta (born in 1971) has been Member of the State Parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg for the constituency of Offenburg since 2001. From 2006 until 2011, Schebesta acted as spokesperson on education policy, from 2011 until 2016, he was vice-chairman and chief parliamentary secretary of the CDU state parliamentary group in Stuttgart. Since Mai 2016, Schebesta has been holding office as parliamentary state secretary within the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports Baden-Wuerttemberg.
After his military service and his law studies at the University of Freiburg, Schebesta started his career as parliamentary advisor for economic policy within the CDU state parliamentary group. A position as personal advisor to Minister Dr. Christoph E. Palmer in the State Ministry of Baden-Wuerttemberg followed. Later, Schebesta was admitted as lawyer and partner in a law firm in Offenburg.
Volker Schebesta joined the CDU while still at school. Today he is district chairman of the CDU Ortenau.
Moreover, Volker Schebesta is voluntarily engaged, for example within the executive board of Dorfhelferinnenwerk Sölden e.V. and as member of the diocesan council of the Archdiocese of Freiburg. He lives with his family in Offenburg.
