Topic: Using Business to Promote Wellbeing and Health

Jeroen Gruiskens is a freelance social entrepreneurial consultant currently active as a business model innovation expert in the Health in Slums Foundation, a Dutch Non-Governmental Organization aimed at improving the lives and wellbeing of down trodden slum-dwelling communities.

He studied Medicine and Global Health at Maastricht University and currently pursues a PhD in Social Entrepreneurship at the CAPHRI School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. He teaches Strategic Management of Health Care Organizations and Global Health Management at Maastricht University and is actively involved as the founder of the HealthCom Global Network Foundation, and as a strategic advisor to several social entrepreneurship and IT enterprises in both High- and Low/Middle-Income Countries.

In his speech Jeroen will talk about how business can been seen and used as a change-agent for organizations aimed at improving the livelihood of vulnerable communities world-wide.
